The workshop will take place at El Palacio de la Magdalena in Santander. There will be no parallel sessions and presentations will take place in the Salon de Baile room, whereas coffee breaks, lunch and poster sessions will take place in the contiguous Hall Real.
Santander is a port city, capital of the Autonomous Community of Cantabria and located on the northern coast of Spain. It is well known by its beautiful beaches and promenades and its important cultural and gastronomic offer (turistic information).
Santander airport (Seve Ballesteros Airport, SDR) is located five kilometres away from the city center. There is a shuttle service from the airport to the Bus Station in Santander. Taxis (~20€) and car hire are available.
Bilbao Airport (BIO) is 100 Km far from Santander and has a wide range of daily conections with Spanish, European cities and the rest of the world. Driving from the A8 highway to Santander takes about an hour. It can also be reached by public transport, combining two bus lines: "Shuttle service from airport to Bus Station in Bilbao" and "ALSA bus route from Santander to Bilbao".
From Bilbao’s airport you can catch a bus that will take you to the city bus station (Bilbao Termibus; last stop). Buses leave the airport every 20 minutes from 06:20 to 00.00 h., and the journey is about 20 minutes long. Tickets can be acquired at the arrivals floor (1.45€). Once at Bilbao Termibus, you can catch an ALSA bus that will take you to Santander city centre. There are several buses per day, with a frequency of about one hour. The duration of the journey is about 1h.30min. Tickets should be purchased on-line (https://www.alsa.com/en/web/bus/home) in advance. Prices range from approximately 7€ to 15€ (depending on the quality of the bus).
